Preserve at Wilderness Lake CDD
September 2, 2015 Meeting Highlights:
Wilderness Lake Preserve CDD held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 2nd.
Open Board Seat – Julie Hankins announced that she has resigned from the Board for personal and professional reasons. The Supervisors and the entire Wilderness Lake Preserve community thank Julie for her service. She has made a difference, and she will be missed.
On account of Julie’s resignation, a seat is vacant on the Board of Supervisors. A successor is needed to fill out the remainder of the term through November, 2016. People who want to be considered for the seat need to apply by submitting their resume to Clif Fischer at Rizzetta & Co. (CFischer@rizzetta.com) no later than October 14th; applications received after the October 14th deadline will not be considered. Applicants must include their phone and electronic contact information. The successor will be chosen by the Board at its November meeting. The Board also designated Supervisor Angelo Daniel as its person to contact for this topic. Please note: The Board now has some morning as well as evening meetings scheduled.
Natural Area Policy – In light of some resident inquiries after the recent storms, the Board reviewed the established natural area policy on trees in the wetlands. District Counsel gave his opinion that affected homeowners should contact their insurers about coverage. The District Manager will pull the written policy and send to Board members for review and subsequent distribution to the community.
Presentations – Also, the District Engineer, along with our wetlands management provider, Gaydos, will make a presentation on the community’s drainage plan at the October meeting. The presentation will be early in the agenda and residents are encouraged to attend.
Deerfields – The Board approved the installation of a larger drainage pipe in Deerfields.
Lodge Playground – The Board designated Lou Weissing as liaison for the Lodge playground replacement project. The September 19th Town Hall Meeting will be a Fun CDD Workshop about playground options. It will include activities for children and provide an opportunity for residents to share their “wish lists” for the site. Resident Services Coordinator – Rizzetta Amenities has established a new part-time lodge position: a Resident Services Coordinator. Please welcome Maria Lacey when you go by the Lodge. The hiring process for a replacement Assistant Lodge Manager is not yet complete.
October CDD Meeting – You can find more information on the September meeting when the draft Minutes come out in next month’s Agenda. The Board’s next meeting is set for the morning of Wednesday, October 7th. The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m.
