Wilderness Lake Preserve CDD held its regular monthly business meeting on Wed., July 6th.
Here are some highlights from the District’s July meeting:
Contracts ~ The Board is going over the contracts with our management company. WLP’s lawyer recommended some changes in the language. These agreements are important to our community, so the Board will revisit this topic at the August meeting.
Celebration of Life Garden ~ Plans and budget for the “Celebration of Life” garden were approved. Special thanks to Tish Dobson and to all others who put their thoughts and work into this project.
Elections ~ The WLP community chooses its Supervisors by public election. There are five total seats, each having a four-year term. Three of the seats are up for election this November. Two seats were unopposed (Seat 3 – Lou Weissing; and Seat 4 – Jim Estel), so one open seat remains (Seat 5). Two candidates qualified to run: Richard Suttmeier and Sam Watson. Please turn out on November 8th in support of your candidate to this and all other positions.
Pavers and Drains ~ The District Engineer reported on maintenance alternatives and cost estimates for paving the entrance from Hwy. 41. The Supervisors were also informed about a drainage issue in Lakewood Retreat. Management will pull up the plans to determine whether the underdrain system is local to the subdivision or if it is part of a larger water drainage system.
Playground Update ~ Matt Gagnon from ARC/Playspace, (the playground vendor), was in attendance and reviewed the status of the project. The vendor is doing site preparation, (work that needs no permit), to be ready and save time in putting up the structure. Our District Engineer, Lee Harwell, reported on his work with the County. The paperwork is complete and authorization should be here any day now.
*** Update *** Pasco County has issued the building permit, so the footers will be poured next week. An inspection will be scheduled and we should all enjoy the finished project soon!
Proposed Budget for 2016 – 2017 ~ The Board will vote on the 2016 – 2017 budget at the August meeting. Your input is not just welcome – it is sought out and appreciated!
You can find additional information regarding the July meeting from the Board’s draft Minutes. Those Minutes will be posted inside July’s draft Agenda. Our next Board meeting is set for the evening of Wednesday, August 3, 2016, and will start at 6:30 p.m.
