Wilderness Lake Preserve CDD held its regular monthly business meeting on Wednesday, June 1st. Here are some highlights from the District’s May meetings:
Replacing the “Turkey Crossing” Sign ~ Vandals ripped down and made off with one of our “Crossing” signs. The sign has hung from the stone cairn at the corner of Wilderness Lake Blvd. and Whispering Wind for years. The Board approved funds to replace the “Turkey Crossing” sign.
NOTE: If you have any information about the theft, or about the whereabouts of our community sign, let the Lodge know. Your report will be confidential.
Fixing the Pool’s Sound System ~ Lightning struck the pool’s audio system. Our Lodge Manager found a replacement at half price; she even got the dealer to include a five-year warranty. We all should hear the new system in a few days.
Street Paver Repairs ~ Some paver bricks at the main entrance off Highway 41 are loose. The Board is looking at maintenance alternatives and getting cost estimates on the project. The Supervisors are also concerned about limiting any road closures.
Playground Update ~ Hat tip to resident Tim Couet, who contacted a Pasco Commissioner and got clarification on the permit. District Engineer Lee Harwell pulled together surveys and drawings. The project vendor is supposed to walk the completed papers through in a few days. The WLP community will hear as soon as construction can go forward.
Proposed Budget for 2016 – 2017 ~ The Board approved a budget for next fiscal year. Public hearing on the final budget resolution will be held on August 3, 2016. Your input is not just welcome – it is sought out and appreciated!
You can find more information about the June meeting from the Board’s draft Minutes. Those Minutes will be posted inside July’s draft Agenda. Our next Board meeting is set for the morning of Wednesday, July 6, 2016, and will start at 9:30 a.m.
