September 5, 2018 CDD Meeting Highlights

Cardno Engineering, WLP’s District Engineering firm, updated the Board regarding an erosion issue leading to Pond 31 (behind homes on the west side of Ambleside Drive).  The eroded area will be filled in with sand and dirt, and new sod installed.

The remaining repair work on the front entrance roadway pavers should be complete by the end of September.

The request from the Nature’s Ridge HOA to connect to the CDD irrigation system was put on hold until a review by the District Attorney and the Bond Company is complete.  A review of the CDD irrigation system showed other private (gated) HOA areas are tapped into CDD irrigation.  There are potential issues relating to the CDD bond structure that need to be reviewed prior to any final decision on additional connections.  Also, the maintenance costs associated with HOA usage of the CDD system need to be determined.

The Board expressed frustration with the performance of the landscape maintenance company.  Weed issues, lack of mulching, incomplete palm tree trimming, and other missed maintenance items were the subject of a lengthy discussion.  It was noted that the landscape company received a failing grade on the August inspection.  The fall flower rotation at the Lodge and front & back entrances is scheduled to be completed the 3rd week of September.

The next CDD meeting is October 3rd, at 9:30 AM, in the Activities Center.
