Wilderness Lake Preserve CDD held its regular monthly business meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Here are some highlights from the District’s September meeting:
Pavers and Entrance Repairs ~ Our community has been waiting for a contractor to repair the entrance to WLP. Due to inclement weather, the contractor has pushed back the repair several times over the last month. We anticipate the repair taking place by the end of September. There may be some disruption and lane closures at the entrance, but we all are looking forward to having the road repaired.
Wildlife Review ~ WLP takes pride in its ecological awareness. We are privileged to share an environment with everything from scrub pine and dwarf oak to deer, sandhill crane, herons and more. But our neighbors are still wild, and the alligators, coyote, boar hogs and others are wild animals and must be treated with care and respect. The District’s counsel and management are reviewing and will report on our wilderness policies next month.
Playground Update ~ The swing set at the Lodge playground has been adjusted and our children can safely play there again. The Board also heard a report on access issues so our engineer will be following up with the contractor.
Drainage Issues ~ The recent storm brought plenty of rain to our area. The Board heard reports on the performance of the drainage system. More information on water flow will be available at the next meeting.
Management Agreements ~ The Board approved is the three management contracts with Rizzetta. Thanks to all involved for their input into and hard work on those negotiations. The Board hopes to put the matter to rest so as to concentrate on new issues.
You can find more information about the September meeting from the Board’s draft Minutes. Those Minutes will be posted inside October’s Agenda. Our next Board meeting is set for the morning of Wednesday, October 5, 2016, and will start at 9:30 a.m.
